On 14 August 2017, consumer sentiments at the all-India level were steady at 96.13. This can be attributed to the stability in the constituent indices- the index of current economic conditions and the index of consumer expectations were constant at 94.59 and 97.11, respectively.
Urban sentiments index was down 0.19 per cent at 91.36. This was a result of a 0.31 per cent fall in the index of consumer expectations to 91.16. Meanwhile, the index of current economic conditions was stable at 91.67.
Rural sentiments index fell by 0.37 per cent to 98.72 due to a 0.88 per cent drop in the index consumer expectations to 100.3. The index of current economic conditions was up 0.49 per cent to 96.24.
