On 25 June 2017, consumer sentiments at the all-India level were up 0.19 per cent at 97.01 for the four-day period, starting 22 June 2017. This can be attributed to a 0.46 per cent rise in the index of current economic conditions to 97.3. Meanwhile, the index of consumer expectations was steady at 96.82.
Urban consumer sentiments index was down 0.54 per cent at 92.36 during this period. This was a result of the decline in both the constituent indices- the index of current economic conditions and the index of consumer expectations, which fell by 0.45 per cent to 92.89 and by 0.59 per cent to 92.01, respectively.
Rural consumer sentiments index and its constituent indices- the index of current economic conditions and the index of consumer expectations were steady at 99.27, 99.06 and 99.4, respectively.
